World Mastery: where the world comes to learn from the Maestros

We are pleased to announce its investment in World Mastery, the online platform for non-academic learning where Maestros share their knowledge and values with the world.
It’s the time for edtech
In order to sift through the overload of resources available on the internet, we at Nauta believe that customers are now willing to pay for good-quality content and services online: entertainment, video, news, games, coaching, education, etc.
What about online education? Investing in talent is paramount for success in a future full of robots. And the workforce understands that they need to adapt and learn skills that will be useful in the future. That is why, besides pure software plays, Nauta has invested in companies generating great educational content such as ABA English, Emjoy, and now World Mastery.
Introducing the Maestros
In the same way machinery enabled higher productivity in the 20th century and allowed workers to have some free time, we believe that 21st-century technology will allow people to work fewer hours and spend more time pursuing their hobbies. Billions of people around the world will want to enjoy sports, music, dancing, arts, enhance their fitness and wellbeing, etc., and will seek to learn and be trained. Those hobbyists and the local instructors who teach them would love to learn how to do it from the best in their field, the Maestros they admire.
Enter World Mastery, the edtech company that produces and distributes online educational content delivered by 'Maestros' (renowned, celebrity experts) to share their knowledge and values with teachers and professionals worldwide.
World Mastery helps Maestros achieve lifelong recognition and build their legacy by spreading their teaching methodology to admiring colleagues and followers.
On the other hand, World Mastery provides instructors and professionals around the world with the relevant and curated content needed for their continuous learning.
"Until now I attended conferences to improve as a dance teacher, but only managed to improve as a dancer. World Mastery courses are unique, because their courses are focused on the teaching of how to become a better instructor and how to make improve your classes.", Susanna de la Fuenta, dance instructor.
Entrepreneurs must have G-R-I-T
For a company to be truly successful the management team should display several attributes: leadership, vision, ambition, adaptability, coachability, experience, etc. But entrepreneurs must not forget that the journey to success is so long, “dark and full of terrors” that the most necessary quality should be resilience, grit, endurance.
Aniol Brosa and Oriol Segundo founded World Mastery in 2016 as a spin-off of their previous venture u!dance, a group of dance academies that developed their own ERP and course content. They faced numerous obstacles along the way but were determined to succeed and ready to pivot when it was necessary.

Just feel the market pull
We were not surprised to see that clients loved the opportunity to apply their Maestros’ teaching methodology both for personal or professional development and to boost their reputation as instructors and thus generate more revenues.
"World Mastery’s philosophy is a proven methodology to teach the teachers.". Aniol Brosa, CEO of World Mastery.
Moreover, World Mastery had achieved significant sales whilst being very efficient with their capital. They tested continuously, kept their product simple, producing the content in-house and maintaining great KPIs overall.
When you see that a market is willing to pay and happy to use your product, however rough and simple it looks to you, you know there is potential. It is your turn to hone this product-market fit and get your team ready to conquer the world. That is what we would like to support World Mastery with.

In summary, we are happy to welcome World Mastery to Nauta’s portfolio and we look forward to helping them build their legacy for years to come. We hope it becomes a great success story for the fund.
