Celebrating 20+ years of Nauta - Launch of Fund VI, Vintage 2026

Twenty years after raising our very first institutional VC fund in 2006, we’re thrilled to announce the first close of our sixth fund at €60M, to back European B2B software and deep tech companies from pre-seed to Series A.
We’ve received an anchor LP investment from the British Business Bank, the fourth time the bank has invested in Nauta. Joining them are SETT, Merifin Capital and Institut Català de Finances, as well as other institutions and family offices across the UK, Continental Europe, LatAm and the Middle East. Three-quarters of the investors in this first close are repeat LPs from previous Nauta funds, with the remainder made up of new investors. We’re on track to reach a total fund size of €150M to €200M in the second half of 2027, bringing our total assets under management close to €750M.
Back in 2006, our first institutional €50M fund launched during the post-Web 2.0 era, carrying us into the mobile and early cloud platform shifts. Even then, we backed leading B2B software companies and deep tech pioneers in cybersecurity. The launch of the iPhone the following year opened a whole new paradigm for entrepeneurs, consumers and investors; one we leaned further into with our 2010 fund. Since then, we’ve invested through every major technology shift up to the current AI, automation and quantum computing breakthroughs that we have embraced in our two most recent 2016 and 2021 funds. On top of this, we have also launched opportunity funds to give our LPs access to our best assets.
Today, with offices in both London and Barcelona, we’re one of Europe’s largest and longest-standing investors in early-stage companies. Over the past 20 years, we’ve backed more than 200 founders across 100 companies, with almost €3B in exit value achieved to date through more than 25 exits from companies like Brandwatch, Holded and Connectbase.
We invest predominantly in capital-efficient software companies disrupting large verticals such as travel, finance, retail and HR. On top of this, through our Nauta Labs initiative within the same fund, we also back pre-seed deep tech companies in areas such as HPC, AI infrastructure, cybersecurity, industrial automation, digital health infrastructure and energy frontier technology. Our breakout star Universal Quantum, building the world’s first million-qubit quantum computer, has just raised a $100M Series A – the largest Series A ever raised by a UK-headquartered quantum firm.
Our portfolio also includes more classic B2B propositions such as Lodgify, the leading short-term rental management software; Unravel, the AI-powered travel discovery and booking platform; Acai Travel, AI agents which manage customer support for the travel industry; and Netbird, an open-source cybersecurity company based in Berlin, which Nauta backed at pre-seed and recently raised a $10M Series A.
Carles Ferrer Roqueta, Nauta’s London-based General Partner said: “Having invested through every major technology shift since the early 2000s, we’ve learned that enduring venture firms are built on discipline, adaptability and long-term conviction. This philosophy has enabled us to reach the rare milestone of a sixth fund, but more importantly it has strengthened our belief that every generation of technology brings with it a new wave of exceptional companies. We’re incredibly excited about what lies ahead and the role we can play in shaping the next era of European innovation.”
Michael Laycock, Investment Director, Funds, British Business Bank said: “Our long-standing partnership with Nauta demonstrates the role the British Business Bank can play in attracting international investors to the UK. Since our first commitment, Nauta has built a substantial presence in London and established the UK as a core investment market for them. This is helping to bring more capital, expertise and international connections into the UK venture ecosystem, helping innovative businesses to grow and strengthening the UK venture market over the long term.”
